Oklahoma Auto Insurance Coverage

The State of Oklahoma requires all motorists to have the required minimum liability insurance coverage of $25,000 for injury or death of one person, $50,000 for injury or death of two or more persons and $25,000 for property damage. All drivers driving in the streets, roads and highways of the state are required to have with them their proof of insurance. They must show this to the officer of the law or to the representatives of the Department of Public Safety when requested or when involved in an accident. Drivers caught driving without insurance shall have to pay the fine and may be incarcerated for up to thirty days. Those who have been convicted with non compliance with the Compulsory Insurance Law will have their registration and license suspended. Drivers who also fail to present their proof of insurance to the Public Safety Representatives will also have their license and registration suspended.

Although the state has the required minimum coverage it is better to have higher coverage and additional coverage, such as the uninsured and underinsured coverage. Higher coverage and additional coverage ensure that in case of serious accident or in case the other driver has no insurance, you will still be protected.

Oklahoma Homeowners Insurance Coverage

The State of Oklahoma has four types of homeowners insurance, the HO-1, HO-2, HO-3 and HO-8. The HO-1 covers your home from eleven named perils, such as fire, lighting, hail, riot and others. This is the most basic type of home insurance in the state. The HO-2 provides coverage from the eleven basic perils and six more perils, such a snow, falling objects, water damage and electrical damage from appliances. The HO-3 provides comprehensive coverage and protects the home from all perils except the standard exception of earthquake, war and nuclear disaster. The HO-8 is for older homes which cannot qualify from the other types of home insurance. It provides coverage against eleven perils but what makes it different is that it covers the actual value of the home.

The State of Oklahoma does not require homeowners to purchase home insurance for their homes. However if you purchased your home through financial institutions, your lender will require you to purchase home insurance in order to protect their investment. Now after you have paid your loan, you can cancel your home insurance. But since you now own your home, you should think of it as your investment and should do what you can to protect it. The only way to do that is through home insurance.

Oklahoma Health and Life Insurance Coverage

The State of Oklahoma does not require health insurance companies to have standard policy or plan. This means the cost of your health insurance may vary with each insurance company. This also means that the benefits or the coverage also varies. Thus, before you purchase your health insurance, you should make sure to read and understand the benefits and the coverage of the policy. You should know what is included and what is not included in your policy. You should also know the deductibles, the coinsurance payments, whether you can choose your own health provider, what services are included and whether your preexisting condition is covered or whether it has waiting period. Of course you must know, first and foremost, if your insurance company is reliable and has high rating. You do not want to be stuck with unreliable health insurance company at the time you need medical coverage. Now if you cannot afford health insurance from private insurance companies, you should check the state programs. There are many programs which provide coverage to those who cannot afford to pay for health insurance and to those who cannot qualify for health insurance because of health status.

As for life insurance, the most common ones available in the state are the term life and the whole life insurance. If you are thinking of purchasing life insurance it is best to get the whole life since it provides lifetime coverage and accumulates cash value.
